Activities Magazine Advertising Specs
Printing & Distribution
10,000 copies of Activities Magazine are printed and distributed to over 180+
highly visible locations throughout Kentucky and Tennessee, Our distribution
points include: health food stores, restaurants, schools, holistic health
clinics, cafes, galleries, retail shops, bookstores, hotel foyers, museums
and other locations frequented by our readers. In addition we deliver 5000
copies to area residents through direct mail and hand delivery.
Mechanical Specs
The trim size is 10” x 10” with a live area of 9” x 9”.
Please allow one quarter of an inch for safety. Activities Magazine is saddle-stitched
and printed on white bookstock paper with 80lb-gloss cover stock.
4 Color pages for a 24 page magazine are:
Back Cover, Inside Front, Inside Back, Page 3, 4, 37, 38, 39, 49, 50 (subject
to change).
Advertisers who wish to print their ads in 4-color on other pages must pay
an additional color charge.

Commission & Invoicing
Agency Commission 15%. Special rates for non-profit organizations. Invoices
due no later than 30 days of invoice date. New clients must supply payment
with ad.
Activities Magazine Artwork Guidelines
Ads
When creating artwork for ads, please use appropriate software programs.
Adobe InDesign or Illustrator, & QuarkXpress. These programs should be
used to CREATE the ad but please don't send us these files. Export your file
to a PDF file optimized for Press Quality.
Some tips for great looking ads:
- All ads should be made to size. If your ad is 4.25" x
1.625" then that should be the size of your document. - Do not outline fonts. This is an archaic step in the graphics
workflow. It is not relevant anymore. PDF files take care of any font problems. - Photoshop is for PHOTOS! If at all possible do not use
Photoshop to create artwork for print. If this is the only program you have,
at least save the file as a Photoshop PDF. Please do not send PSD, TIFF,
JPG, PNG – and raster/pixel based file formats. - Do not use Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, or Publisher. These
programs are designed to be used at home on your printer. They are not geared
for professional publishing. There may be an additional charge for converting
these types of files.
Art and Photography
Any images sent to us should be at least 266 dpi. and cropped to the appropriate
size. For example, an image for our cover would be 10.5" x 10.5" at
266 dpi. This file would be approx, 23 MB in size.
AD DEADLINE: 15th of each month for space. 20th of the month
for artwork.
AGENCY & NONPROFIT: Agency discount 15%. 10% discount
for non-profi t organizations. Invoices due no later than 30 days of
invoice date.
CARDED INSERT FEE: $40 per thousand; 10,000 minimum. Customer
to supply approved inserts.
GRAPHIC CHARGES: Advertisers will be billed 10% of ad cost
for
layout and design.
PAYMENT POLICY: New clients must supply payment with ad.
All
payment for advertising must be received by the 25th of the month
preceding publication unless special arrangements have been
made. Advertising must be reserved with a credit card and if payment
is not received by the 25th of the month preceding publication
this credit card will be processed for the amount due.
CONDITIONS: Complete Merchant Services, reserves the right
to reject advertising at any time and is not liable for any cost or damages
if for any reason they fail to run an ad. For printed errors liability is limited
to cost of the ad space. It is the advertiser’s responsibility to submit
ad changes for each issue.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that the Cancellation Fee
of this contract is $100 PLUS the differential of the insertion rate
noted on the contract or rate sheet deducted from the one time
rate. Cancellation of this contract must be at least 30 days prior to
